Winston Baker: Using His Former Law-Enforcement Experience with Knowledge of Law in America, Tricked Another Christian Brother Out of Ownership of Valuable Property that was Used for the Glory of God!"
He is right now engaging in what he proclaims is his "ministry" by at least one of the Adventist Churches in the Northeastern Conference, more than likely in the Connecticut, New Hampshire or New York areas.

The following was made known to us by a brother who was about to engaged in a very important work for the glory of God using expensive equipment that was stolen from him by another brother who professed to have a deep love for the Lord. The incident he submitted to us revealed a very startling nature about American law all should be aware of. Email evidence and some pictures have been provided by him for us.

In this series, with the evidence provided, the names have been changed or replaced to protect the innocent. However the name of the person who committed the crime has not been changed. We are using his actual name and email address lest others fall victims. In this expose, we are not telling you to refuse to lend your property to others who may be in need, for Jesus Himself told us not to turn away from people who would want to borrow what we may have. We are just making sure you understand first what the law in America would and would not do if someone then decided to run away with what you have and then refuse your orders to bring them back. The incident described here is not even quite loaning someone property. Take a look at the issues presented here.

Is it possible for someone to travel across the United States with very expensive equipment he never received any authorization to take with him by accident? Was an agreement made? Was everything made clear due to even the value of the items taken? Does the owner approve of the flight and travel with his things? Even in consideration of the value of such equipment, was everything made clear with the owner?

The items taken was a:

Sony Handycam SR12 Digital 120GB hard-drive camcorder worth over $1,000
A Sony DVD Burner, $79
Two tripods for the camera $70-85 each
Some wilderness survival DVDs (about 9 at $26 each)

All times expressed in the emails is Eastern Standard Time.

This is the truck owned by Winston Baker. It is registered in the state of New Hampshire. I do not know what the license plate number is. From the picture, the best I can see of the license plate number is: 283 6663 New Hampshire.

Story: Our subject (Brother A) was due to leave to another nearby city to find work. He owned an expensive camera and other items he used for the glory of God. A friend of the family (Winston Baker), being on fire for the Lord that he saw for the first time, asked him to leave his things at the house so that he can use it for God's glory till he came back. The owner agreed.

The owner came back early not being able to retain the job he went for and noticed that all his things were cleared out with the things of Winston Baker. He made known to Winston Baker that he had an important project he needed to work on right away and asked him for his things. Winston Baker agreed but took his time.

A short time later, Winston Baker, using tricks, just left with Brother A's things without even saying good-bye. Thinking he could set up an arrest warrant, Brother A went to the police, but was told that since he lent the property to Winston Baker, Winston Baker can do anything and everything to what he owned and that there was nothing he could do about it.

Here now is the story as was submitted by the victim:

Winston Baker stole my expensive camera and other things with him and went out of state, ultimately to New Hampshire, he said. Winston Baker is a Jamaican. He has a very slender face. He is not very black nor very fair either. His hair is low down to bald. He has notable missing upper teeth. He owns a truck and a very flashy trailer (pictures provided). Unfortunately I don't have a single picture of the man.

I was in Miami, Florida, but was due to get a job in Charlotte, NC, but stayed about 2 weeks at my cousin's house in Erwin, NC. I, at that time, met my Christian brother Winston Baker for the first time then. I had communicated with him often before, but never saw him personally. He was the brother of my cousin's wife and professed to be a very devout Seventh-day Adventist.

All the over 2 weeks I was there at my cousin's house in Erwin, all I saw Winston doing was posting cry aloud and spare not messages on Facebook. When it was time for me to leave for Charlotte, Winston Baker approached me and asked, "Brother, can you leave your camera here at the house so I can use it. You wouldn't be able to use it while you're on the job anyway, and I would put it to good use till you get back." I had actually already thought to leave the camera there at the house because of that reason: that I would not be using it where I'm going, so I agreed. I had even felt that the owner of the house might want to use it. If so, the owner would merely call me and ask to use it, so my intention was to leave it at the house.

As innocent as those words are or as protective as you think those words are when I agreed to leave the camera and my other things there, I am getting the understanding that I have been cheated out of ownership of my things by Mr. Winston Baker because of American law. He was a bounty hunter and therefore had knowledge of the law I did not. I therefore left, but came back unexpectedly after two weeks actually catching Mr. Winston Baker there at the house. I didn't know it at the time, but he was planning to leave with my things without telling me while I was away. Before I came back, I sent the letter of June 13th asking Winston what Youtube videos he made or what use he made of the camera. He apparently didn't know I was coming back at that time. He did not reply, but when I got back I saw him engrossed with what I always saw him doing before, constantly posting "cry aloud and spare not" messages on Facebook. I knew at that time that was the end of him using my camera, or so I thought.

When I returned it was understood that I was to get my things back, but Winston Baker had no such intention. I noticed that the room Winston Baker was in was cleaned out, including my things. This was suspicious, but I still had no thought of any possibility of massive treachery. I asked him about that and he told me that my things were not safe in the room so he had to put them in his truck to keep them safe. There was no reason for a statement like that, so I asked to have my things back. He told me that things are topsy tervy in his truck, so he asked me for time to get his things together. I agreed. I then told him that I'm ready to make an important video production with the camera.

This is the trailer owned by Winston Baker as it even currently (July 26, 2010) sits on the property in Erwin, North Carolina. This trailer is unmistakable, for there is none other outwardly designed like it.

The next day after I arrived I called a most unusual man who created a life-sized replica of the Ancient Jewish Sanctuary located in Erwin, NC. I had always wanted to make a video documentary of what this man made, so I called him virtually the next day, for I didn't want to waste any time. His name is [Sanctuary Owner]. I begged the man to allow me to make a video production of what he had free of charge. Later that same day I sent him video links of my work in video taping church services that I did for months in 2010 just to show him my capabilities. I knew that I had a short time to live in North Carolina before I am called away out to work, so I knew I couldn't waste any time.

I did this commonly. I approached people who had talent and would request for them to get their thoughts together so I can make a video production for them. I approached a Jamaican lady who was considering making a TV program displaying her cooking recipes. She did not get it together by time I had to leave. I approached a handyman and asked him to get his thoughts together so I can document his carpentry skills. He didn't get his act together by time I had to leave either. This was in Florida before I traveled to North Carolina.

I don't have what is called a MINISTRY. I just wanted to use my video taping and editing capabilities to improve my talent so that I can be experienced enough to be employed using my camera for the future. That is actually not a ministry. Ever since the Jimmy and Tammy Baker affair, I generally loathed people talking about their ministry this or their ministry that. I don't desire to have any kind of ministry to this date.

Days passed by and Mr. Winston Baker didn't get back to me. Winston Baker was taking his time getting his truck cleaned out and returning my things to me. Then June 19th came and I noticed that his truck was gone. I asked his sister where he was. She replied to me that he said he was going to the mechanics to have some work done on his truck and that he would soon be back. Hours went by and so I asked again. I got the same reply. Late afternoon then came so I more insistently and with perplexity asked where Winston Baker was. His sister told me that she called him and he told her that he was in Washington, DC. He was heading ultimately up to New Hampshire in order to have the registration on his truck renewed. He somehow forgot to even say good-bye to me accidentally on purpose. When I told his sister that he took my expensive things with him, she said, "HE DIDN'T!" Winston Baker made sure I never ever saw my things again.

I managed to reach him by phone first. I was hysterical and asked him what he thought he was doing. At that time I thought I could call the police and have an arrest warrant against him. He knew better because of his knowledge of the law why he even tried the stunt that he did. He pretended that nothing happened at all. He told me to just sit tight and wait till he finishes using my things. I constantly told him to ship them back with lots of insurance on them to protect them, but he kept telling me he must use them and then hand them back to me personally. I couldn't all the time reach him by phone so I communicated through email. Email evidence has been provided. He, in email, even asked me for forgiveness as if he already planned to ask for that before the crime and as if that was his consistent history.

I was told that he told his siblings the same thing, and even that I requested that he bring my things back personally so that they are protected. I never gave him another option. I told him send them back right away with lots of insurance. In one response, Mr. Winston Baker even told me that I didn't loan him my camera, but that God loaned my things to him and that I should just fight with God.

His last word was that he would use my things and bring them back when he pleases and that I was to just sit tight. He told me he couldn't minister to my impatience and told me how childish I was for valuing my little toys more than people unlike his example. He told me to just sit tight and that he would be back in the first week of July and how he couldn't wait till he finishes using it then comes back and presents it to me personally. He MUST personally bring my things back to me to ensure that they would be safe without the slightest thought that I naturally would not even want to see his face. Others gave signs of agreeing to the motion with no common sense. It is now very close to the end of July.

I went to the Erwin Police department with documentation of what happened. They were ready to go after Winston Baker, but when they learned that I had handed my things to him, they went at ease and told me that the whole thing was "just" a civil matter. Anyone could tell that the man stole my things from me. It cannot be an accident for someone to have such expensive things with him against the knowledge and approval of the owner. Winston Baker repeated and maintained over and over again that I was super-generous, kind and stupid enough to lend him such expensive things when I already told him I had an important project to do. That's what would keep him out of jail. Why then didn't he even so much as say good-bye? He never answered that question till much later where he told me he just didn't feel like saying good-bye to me. Therefore, this was the first time I saw my Christian Brother, Winston Baker. He then couldn't see a need to say good-bye to me, then, on top of that, he maintains that I'm such a great and sweet guy to endure so much of a personal sacrifice at my expensive to loan him my things and he still yet didn't see the need to say good-bye to me. Winston insisted that he had every right to take my things away and out of state. He said pointedly that I never told him not to take my things out of state and therefore he had every right to take them away because I didn't specifically tell him that he couldn't do it. I therefore started to tell him that I order him to send them back immediately. From then on his ultimatum to me was meshing with the very purpose of him stealing my things: he told me he will bring them back personally once he's finished with his project for his ministry: He's a Seventh-day Adventist.

This is the truck and trailer connected together as it was before the theft.

The police ultimately told me after a long while of rangling, that it didn't matter about the details nor my understandings nor agreement with Winston Baker. They told me that once I loaned my expensive things to Mr. Winston Baker, he could then do anything he wants with them even if I told him not to leave the state with them. If he still took them out of state or did what he wanted with them against my wishes, he is not a thief nor a criminal under the state: he only merely made a "breach of contract." They told me my only recourse was to serve him with a civil suit. The problem is that Mr. Winston Baker is a vagrant and doesn't have a definite physical address. If I paid to file a civil suit against him and the police can't find him to serve it, the suit would return as "unserved" and I would waste my money.

Several times I passed by the house and looked in the driveway to see if his truck had come back. At those times I passed by, if I saw his truck in the driveway, I would not have gone inside. I would first have called the police, THEN I would have them escort me in there to get my things. This is now the only acceptable way I ever intend on seeing his face again. This was the very first time I finally saw my Christian brother, and he, without any thought, decided to play this ultimate betrayal on me, and he early asked me for forgiveness for the crime after already forgiving himself before the crime. With that request for forgiveness he never stopped telling me that he will bring my things back when he is good and finished using them for his so-called very crucial evangelistic mandate.

I finally had to leave the North Carolina area on late Thursday, July 22nd. Mr. Winston Baker told me that the Lord showed him that he would be back in the first week of July and that I would not be called away from the area for a job by that time. That turned out to be true, I didn't actually get a job by the first week of July, but now I am in Florida ready to take on one.
