This means that no discussion is to be brought against the points proven in most of the links below. Those with this designation will be clearly marked. Any subscriber who brings up the points which have been disproven in the following list of discussions will be likely regarded as an offender and can be unsubscribed. We had to do this for we discovered that we were dialoguing with unscrupulous members of the papal army. Even after conclusive points were presented to the point where they dared not answer them, they continued to present their redundant points and merely mocked our questions away or laughed at them. We therefore have to institute this principle so as not the waste the time of the people. The only way discussion upon
these points can be brought up again is if the argument(s) are wholly
unique in character. All challenges must be issued by applying

OUR POSITION Part 2! Date Posted: 11/10/99

We now ask the very very pertinent question. At the time when Christ entered into the Most Holy Place in 1844, despite the misconceptions, WHICH WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE ON EARTH WHO WERE FOUND, ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN GIVEN US IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, AFFLICTING THEIR SOULS AND ENGAGING IN DEEP HEART-SEARCHING AT THE TIME CHRIST ENTERED? Which?
We therefore see that a position of honor was granted those who honestly sought for the truth and who valued the appearing of our Lord. They were not and will never be honored by men, but it is not the wisdom of men that Christians are to move by.
At the time of Christ, Christ was not interested in the misconceptions of the Disciples. He was however interested in another crucial part of their message: the same one which was given by John the Baptist. John the Baptist had also the same misconceptions shared by the Disciples. When the Millerites came upon the scene, Christ was also not interested in their misconceptions (that Christ was coming personally) but was interested in another part of their message. Christ therefore went along with it and also here chose not to uncover the error. The question therefore is why. Christ was not interested in the event that the Millerites preached, for it was not correct. Christ was however interested in the time factor, for something of awesome import did take place at the time the Millerites designated.
We have biblical evidence to show that from the very time that Christ was resurrected and ascended to His Father, He has always kept the time of his second coming shrouded and clouded in uncertainty. In every instance of Scripture, we can see that Christ was determined to make all of the human family believe THAT HIS COMING WAS AND IS IMMINENT EVEN IF THAT WAS NOT ACTUALLY THE CASE. There are many ways this can be proven and some cases have been actually presented by those attacking our faith.
We first realize that Christ shrouded knowledge of the time of His Second Coming before Daniel and the Disciples. He told them plainly that it was not for them to know the times nor the seasons which God has put under His own power. In the book of the Revelation, it starts out by saying that it was the Revelation of Jesus Christ "which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must SHORTLY come to pass." Rev. 1:1 The key word there is SHORTLY.
It was by this word that one among us attacking our faith has told us that he was a Preterist, meaning that all the symbols and events connected with them in the Revelation already came to pass since Christ stated at the time that they would take place SHORTLY. Yet in that we can ask him some very pertinent questions: What is the meaning of the words "Behold. . . " "I come quickly" Rev. 3:11; "I come quickly" Rev. 22:7; "I come quickly" Rev. 22:12; "I come quickly" Rev. 22:20? Question: When were these words fulfilled? Later in the Revelation, it tells us plainly that when the Lord Jesus comes, something is going to happen: Rev. 19:20, 21: 20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." When did these things happen brethren?!
Let me tell you for a fact that if you are the descendents of a line of Christians, I can say with surety that your grandmother prophesied that Christ was coming SOON, your grandmother's grandmother prophesied that Christ was coming SOON, and your grandmother's grandmother's grandmother prophesied that Christ was coming SOON. Were they lying? Were they liars? Were they false prophets? Where is Christ now? Where is your grandmother's grandmother's grandmother now? With this understanding, we can therefore test the scriptures our enemies have thrown against us.
Mr. G has shown us 1 Pet. 4:17
"FOR THE TIME IS COME that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
This apparently shows us that the judgment has begun in the days of Peter. That's what Mr. G was trying to prove.
We have already seen God's reckoning of time. How therefore do we relate to this scripture? Does this scripture negate the message given us in the earthly Sanctuary where after the lamb was slain, the priest ministered in the Holy Place for a long time, and wound up ministering in the Most Holy Place for just one day out of the year? If it does, how can it be reconciled with this scripture:
1
Thess. 4:16, 17: 16 For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 THEN
WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS,
TO MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR: AND SO SHALL WE EVER BE WITH THE LORD.
Why does the author here insist that he would be numbered among that ones that will be "alive and remain?" Why does he seemingly believe that he lives at the end of time? Is there some mistake here? We can see here that the Apostles thought that Christ was coming in their day. Want to see another scripture that confirms this? How about the following:
Heb
1:1 God,
who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers
by the prophets,
2
Hath
in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of
all things, by whom also he made the worlds.
Paul insists that his day is the last days. Yet from Paul's day to ours is fully one third of the entire age of the planet! How could Paul make such a mistake?
As we yet study these issues, we find that Christ Himself is guilty of giving His followers the impression that His Second Coming is always imminent. In Matt. 16 Christ tells us,
"Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." (verse 28).
Who do you know of who was standing there that did not die? And yet many tell us that Ellen White made the same mistake by stating that there were people in her day that would not taste of death until Christ shall come. They make a very big deal about this what they call an error and then state that the error proves that Ellen White is a false prophet.
Those very words of Christ made His followers to believe that His Second Coming was imminent. Most everything Christ did gave the impression to His followers that His Second Coming was imminent. However much in error those teaching us about the Christian Spirit feel the necessity to bring up against God's prophet or His people, the facts show that Christ Baptized Himself also under similar conditions ripe for accusation. The question is, WHY?
